“CURB” REPORTER Philco Radio has a separate control box which can be carried anywhere in the house. The radio can be in the living room and operated by the control box from the bed room. There are no wires connecting the two instruments, yet with the con trol box you can get the station you want, increase or lower the volume, and cut the radio off with out having to get up out of bed. It is really mysterious. It just shows you that the time is coming when a farmer can sit under a shade tree with a control box and operate a tractor and do his plow ing while reading or listening to the radio. It is a marvelous age. One of the horrors of the future will be soldiers in trenches or un derground forts with control boxes who will operate machine guns without having to be anywhere near the guns .... People are going to have to be good some day in order to live ... . Walter Bell is expected next week to open Pine Crest Inn for the season. The Carter Browns are expected sometime in October or November. Miss Mary Banning and brother, Tanner Banning will arrive to night from Duluth, Mtinn., for a visit at '‘Friendly Hills”, the Try on Banning home.
